The MSI SWIS1100S Automated Marker Band Inspection Equipment inspects marker band swaged diameter and marker band position on the inner member. The SWIS1100S utilizes a Cognex 5 mega pixel high resolution camera and servo motor control to find and measure the inner member tip and marker bands. The system is equipped with a pneumatic pick and place system for hands-free processing of inner member batches of up to 50 pieces. Current inspection data is displayed live on the HMI along with the current batch summary data. The full data set for each batch is written to a csv file. The SWIS1100S is configured for use with inner members of various diameters and lengths utilizing a single camera profile.

The Automated Marker Band Inspection Equipment features a touch screen interface and servo motor driven motion. The HMI allows for easy recipe setup, product change over, and equipment calibration. The software’s auto recognition of product tips and marker bands eliminates the need to adjust any camera settings between products. These features combined with less than 30 second inspection time create a fast, versatile inspection system for a large product range.
